Dan is an award-winning print reporter, having worked in his 26-year journalism career for the Kansas City Business Journal, the Kansas City Star and Thomson Reuters. His variegated background also includes stints as an attorney for a large Boston law firm and as a senior underwriter for a media insurance company in Kansas City.
Dan is a two-time finalist for the Gerald Loeb Awards for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, and is the recipient of multiple awards from the Missouri Press Association, the Kansas City Press Club and the Association of Area Business Publications. He has served as a regular panelist on public affairs television and radio shows, including “Kansas City Week in Review,” and has been a speaker and panelist at numerous events and conferences, including ones sponsored by the Missouri Bar, the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the University of Missouri-Columbia and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. For several years, he wrote an opinion column for Missouri Lawyers Weekly commenting on issues of topical interest to Missouri lawyers.
